Platform on which Lancaster students can buy, sell, or exchange items with one another
For students who have items they'd like to acquire or already have but don't need, a platform could be created in which students can advertise items they are searching for, or items they would like to sell/swap with others. This could allow students to find any typical items they might need, such as household accessories, kitchenware, textbooks, sports equipment, etc.
Instead of people posting advertisements of/requests for items which clutter up the Facebook Lancaster student pages, having this concisely contained within one platform would make buying, selling and exchanging a far simpler process for students and declutter pages not meant for advertisements.
The new platform of buying and selling could take form in a unique, specific Facebook page, or could even function as a section of the iLancaster app, giving students a easy and accessible way of finding items they want to buy or sell within a nearby location.
The platform could function by having students make posts, like in a forum, entitled with the item they are discussing, with an option to select whether they want to 'buy' or 'sell', accompanied by a brief description and images. There could then be a search and filtering system implemented so that students can search for specific items, or simply brows the 'buy' or 'sell' items currently listed. If you encounter an item you would like to buy, there could be a system of clicking a button next to the item to show your interest, which could notify the seller of your contact details, such as Lancaster email address, by which they can contact you to further discuss selling the item. As the platform would be based on Lancaster students, exchanging items would be easily arranged amongst students with their close proximity.
